Skincare Decoded: The Practical Guide to Beautiful Skin by Victoria Fu and Gloria Lu

Created by formulation chemists Victoria Fu and Gloria Lu, they both felt that the beauty industry was overcrowded by formulations and ingredients that didn’t work. They also felt that the chemists’ voice was often left out. They both left their job at L’Oreal to create an Instagram account titled “Chemists Confessions” which then led to this book. Known for their humor and scientific expertise, they created a book that allows consumers to find their way through the skincare clutter.

Pure Skin: Discover the Japanese Ritual of Glowing by Victoria Tsai

Victoria Tsai recollects her journeys through Japan and the skincare rituals honored throughout the generations. The beautiful illustrations will guide you through the simple steps of the traditional, Japanese beauty rituals. Many have agreed that this book will leave the reader feeling a sense of serenity  through the simplicity of instructions and historical context of traditional Japanese beauty culture.

Milady Skin Care and Cosmetic Ingredients Dictionary by M. Varinia Michalun and Joseph C. DiNardo

A personal favorite of the B3 Team, this book is a wonderful ingredient dictionary for just about any ingredient you can think of. There is a simple introduction to skin types and physiology, product formulation and how cosmetic products interact with the skin. Under each ingredient are the skin care benefits along with a list of the different forms of that ingredient. Don’t be intimidated if you are a beginner Skincare Enthusiast. It is easy to comprehend and not one bit overwhelming. We recommend this as a reference guide to beginners and experts.
